Meeting 5-17-2016

Hey everyone!  Just a reminder about group tomorrow evening.  Last week on a post about the Caitlyn Jenner de-transitioning hoax, discussion shifted to what I feel might be a good topic to discuss.  In the media and online we often only see a few narratives regarding transitions.  The person knew when they were young, felt trapped in the wrong body, got hormones, surgery, etc.  Well, obviously not everyone fits these narratives and we can feel and are sometimes told that the way we are transitioning is wrong.

So let's discuss that some this week.  Let's talk about how we feel when our approach to transition is met with derision.  Let's talk about how these expectations affect us.

I hope to see you tomorrow!

Hello World

Genderlines is a support group for all people in the transgender and gender non-conforming community.  We also welcome our allies, family and friends to our group meetings and events.  Founded in 2014, Genderlines is proud to offer a welcoming, safe, and non-judgmental place for people to explore their gender identity.  We are here to offer peer based support to our members.  The strength of the group comes from its members.  We have members from all along the gender spectrum and from all walks of life.  Wherever you are along your journey you are welcome to join us.

Our group is geared towards adults, however if you are under 18 and looking for support we highly recommend you check out Time Out Youth.  They are an organization devoted to the support of LGBT youth since 1991.

We've been around a couple years, but this site is new and still under construction.  Please bear with us as we add in content and functionality.
